Visual Arts Workshops for Children in South Bombay

The Interact Club members recently carried out a series of 5 visual arts workshops aimed at nurturing creativity and providing a platform for self-expression among children in need of care and support.

At an orphanages and daycare centers in South Bombay, over 100 children have participated in a structured session focused on canvas painting. Each child received a canvas board and painting supplies, and was encouraged to depict an image representing what they aspire to be in the future. Following the painting activity, the children engaged in a round-robin sharing exercise, discussing their artworks and dreams with peers. The activity not only fostered artistic expression but also built confidence and empathy through storytelling.

In a separate visit to a local rescue home, Interact Club members conducted another workshop with 19 children. Similar to the earlier session, participants were provided with canvases and painting materials, and were guided through the process of creating their own unique artworks. The session created a joyful and therapeutic environment, offering the children a chance to explore imagination while building a sense of accomplishment.

These workshops underscored the Interact Clubs’ commitment to youth engagement and community service. By combining art with meaningful reflection, the initiative successfully brought together creativity, aspiration, and shared experience in a way that resonated deeply with the participants.
